During the winter 2016-2017 in Vila Franca de Xira (Lisbon) it was reported a collective roost of at least 5 individuals on the ground and some fences wood. It’s an area close to the ocean coast where there aren’t trees. Here the Short-eared Owl winters regularly and around march returns to northern Europe, as in Italy.
